President's Report

Hello BOMA GT Members-

We are very excited about our April meeting.  Please mark your calendars and get registered for noon on April 27th.  Henry Chamberlain, BOMA International’s President and COO and Shelby Christensen, Chair and CEO will be Zooming in to update us on the state of BOMA International, explaining what BOMA does on the international level, what ties the local and international branches together, and the importance of being involved.  They will also be discussing important upcoming exciting BOMA events.  We have invited BOMA Phoenix to join in on this Zoom as it is sure to provide a lot of wonderful information.

I am really looking forward to when we can all get together in person for our meetings again! Until then, we are striving to provide virtual meetings that bring useful and interesting information to all our members.  We are aiming to plan some fun in person events for the Summer to allow all who want to get vaccinated time to do so, so that we can gather safely.  Keep your eyes and ears peeled for some fun stuff coming up in June, July and August. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these ever-changing times!

See you on the 27th!

Property Preservation Committee

The below was emailed to you along with the letter BOMA GT sent to the Mayor and City Manager.  If you need a copy of the letter sent, please respond and Luann will get that to you.

Hello BOMA GT Members!

I hope this email finds everyone well! Our Property Preservation Committee is asking for your assistance to help us support an increased budget for Tucson Police Department after Police Chief Magnus made an appearance on the local news stating that Tucson Police Department will no longer be responding to lower priority calls due to staffing shortages. Many of our properties have already been impacted by this change.

The attached letter was graciously prepared by our president, Heather Baron, and sent to the City Manager’s Office on behalf of BOMA Greater Tucson. If you find it in your interest, we encourage everyone send the letter on your own behalf. The greater the numbers the louder the voice. If we stay persistent in this effort we may successfully promote change to better preserve the properties in our City.

You can also email this letter directly to the mayor and City manager at [email protected] & [email protected].

We appreciate your support in this movement!

COVID-19 Impact Study

Last year, BOMA partnered with Yardi and real estate research and advisory services firm Brightline Strategies to launch a series of studies to measure the impact of COVID-19 on commercial office tenants and discover their thoughts on the future of the office in the post-COVID “new normal.” The results of our first groundbreaking study were released in December. If you have not yet had a chance to review these comprehensive and actionable findings, I invite you to visit the  webpage.

We are thrilled to announce that the second study is being launched this month, and a number of BOMA members have already signed on to participate. Even if you did not participate in the first survey, we invite you to consider joining us this time.

By participating in the study, you not only will receive national and regional findings, but you also will learn what your tenants specifically think about a wide range of questions. We know that perceptions have changed significantly since the first study was conducted last fall. Now that vaccine distribution is underway and a variety of back-to-work strategies have been implemented to help tenants gradually return to their offices, we have expanded the scope of our research to address these and other topics to provide the most timely and relevant insights.

If you are interested in participating in this important research project, please contact  by February 12 to learn more.
