September 2024 Newsletter
President's Message

Happy September, BOMA Greater Tucson!
In partnership with CRE Insight Journal, BOMA Georgia extended an invitation to BOMA Greater Tucson to virtually join The Communication Compass webinar on August 13. I was unable to participate, but if any of our members did, I would love to hear more about the session.
On August 29, Ashley Stewart, an Insurance Advisor with The Mahoney Group, spoke with our group about Life in a “Hard Market.” Ashley shared her insights and strategies on navigating the soaring insurance premiums, and it was clear she has a passion for helping. Ashley shared the importance of preparation in all aspects of a property and the policy. Physically prepping a property for inspections and to address risks, as well as prepping with supporting information regarding past claims when shopping for new policies. I hope everyone who joined walked away with as much helpful information as I did.
As we wrap up the summer, BOMA GT will welcome Sgt. Darrell Hussman with the Tucson Police Department to present on de-escalation techniques with tips on how to keep our properties and businesses safe. This event will start with networking and check-in at 2:30 PM, and the presentation will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Hors D'Oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. Please register by September 19 at Noon.
The BOMA Greater Tucson Annual Business Meeting is set for October 22, 2024. At this meeting, we will cover association business such as a review of the 2024 financials, voting on the 2025 proposed budget, and the election of the 2025 Officers and Board of Directors. It is mandatory we have a quorum for this meeting so please plan to join.
As our Programs Committee finalizes the 2024 calendar and brainstorms for 2025, please let us know what events, education opportunities, or other ideas you would like to see brought to BOMA GT. We will be meeting on Friday, September 13th at 9:00. Check the calendar on the BOMA GT website.

Call for Nominations ...
Members ...
Are you interested in being on the 2025 BOMA of Greater Tucson Board of Directors or would you like to nominate another member? We need both principal and associate members.
This is a great way to get involved and contribute to YOUR association. This association cannot thrive without active, involved members. The commitment time for the board is minimal. The board meets once a month (3rd Wednesday) at 3:00 via zoom. It does not typically take more than 45 - 60 minutes. You do not need to have prior board experience.
If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Karen Wolf 2022-2024 President BOMA GT or Luann, Executive Director by Monday, October 7, 2024. Our annual meeting and voting is Tuesday, October 22nd.
Golf
We have one non-golfing sponsorship remaining that we NEED to sell. If you know anyone who might be interested in the other Breakfast Sponsor, please share the information. Other than that, we are SOLD OUT!
